Digging back through Variety, Fango uncovered an item revealing that young actor Kyle Gallner has been cast in RED, Lucky McKee’s upcoming adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s novel. Gallner, whose credits include, coincidentally, Wes Craven’s RED EYE, the soon-to-be-released Marisa Tomei-starring psychothriller DANIKA and playing Bart Allen/The Flash on TV’s SMALLVILLE, will presumably portray one of a group of juvenile delinquents who heartlessly shoot a dog, and then have to face the brutal revenge of its owner. Stephen (THE GRUDGE) Susco adapted Ketchum’s novel, and RED is set to roll in South Carolina in October; this is McKee’s second film derived from the author’s work after THE LOST, which he co-produced with writer/director Chris Sivertson (see our Fearful Feature here). More details as we get ’em; you can meet Ketchum at our East Coast Weekend of Horrors convention, September 29-October 1 at the Meadowlands Crowne Plaza in Seacaucus, NJ.
