Variety reports that Stephen T. Kay, who directed last year’s surprise supernatural hit BOOGEYMAN, will helm the teen occult pic ZOE AUGUST for producer Mickey Liddell and his new Liddell Entertainment production/financing outfit. The story concerns a teenaged girl who discovers that her parents made a pact with the devil to save her life years before—and now Satan is coming back to collect. Fango did a little digging and found out that the latest draft of the ZOE script was written by C. Jay Cox, whose previous credits include more benign gigs like the screenplay for the Reese Witherspoon vehicle SWEET HOME ALABAMA and the gay-themed romantic comedy/drama LATTER DAYS.
