MTV revealed in an interview with Lindsay Lohan that the actress and tabloid fixture’s filmic direction has made a 180-degree turn from such lighthearted Disney fare as HERBIE FULLY LOADED and FREAKY FRIDAY, with her attachment to director Chris (THE LOST) Siverston’s latest fright flick I KNOW WHO KILLED ME. “I wanted to challenge myself,” Lohan tells the site. “I wanted to do something different, and it’s a really scary read. It’s in the vein of SEVEN and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.”
With principal photography scheduled to commence this December in Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo, CA, I KNOW WHO KILLED ME was penned by Jeff Hammond and revolves around Aubrey (Lohan), the daughter of an affluent family who is abducted by a serial killer. While she manages to escape (although not before the loss of her hand and leg), the girl’s plight deepens once she regains consciousness in a hospital and claims that she is Dakota, Aubrey’s doppelganger, and that she must save Aubrey (who is still in the clutches of her abductor) before it is too late. Says the 20-year-old actress of the challenges of her dual role, “It’s the first thriller I have ever been attached to in my life [and] I didn’t think I could do it, but that’s why I am.” Stay tuned to Fango for updates.
