According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frank Darabont has cast Laurie Holden and Andre Braugher in co-starring roles opposite Thomas Jane in his film adaptation of Stephen King’s THE MIST for Dimension. Holden previously acted for Darabont in his nostalgic drama THE MAJESTIC, and the filmmaker tells the trade, “She plays a very key role as one the people trapped in this existential Stephen King nightmare. On the good side of the aisle, she is the female lead of the movie.” As for Braugher, the veteran of TV’s HOMICIDE and ‘SALEM’S LOT remake “is Thomas Jane’s neighbor, a high-powered attorney who has a weekend house in Maine,” according to Darabont. “They have more of an adversarial relationship. I’ve been a fan of Andre’s since GLORY. I’ve never met him, and I’m so looking forward to it.”
THE MIST begins rolling later this month in Shreveport, LA; Dimension currently has the movie penciled in for a November 21 release.
