Fango got the scoop that veteran actor/genre fave Brad Dourif has been set to star in DETENTION, a new horror film written and to be directed by Stephen David Brooks and produced by David Brian Moore. Dourif, currently playing Sheriff Brackett in Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN, will play a demented janitor who stalks and slays a group of teens serving detention at their high school on a Saturday; “Think THE BREAKFAST CLUB meets TOOLBOX MURDERS,” Moore tells Fango. Brooks’ scripting credits include Tobe Hooper’s THE MANGLER and the two direct-to-cable/video SPIDERS films; Moore executive-produced the Dorian Gray variation PACT WITH THE DEVIL, starring Malcolm McDowell. DETENTION is scheduled to begin shooting this fall, and we’ll bring you more details as they come to light.
