Variety reports that Rob Schmidt, director of WRONG TURN, MASTERS OF HORROR: RIGHT TO DIE and the upcoming ALPHABET KILLER, will helm a “gross-out” horror film called BAD MEAT for ThinkFilm. Scripted by UK writer Paul Gerstenberger, who also has the witchcraft thriller TEEN SPIRIT set up at 6th Floor Productions, MEAT is set at an extreme boot camp for troublemaking teens where gruesome and disgusting things happen. “I love this script,” Schmidt tells the trade, “and I intend to make it the scariest movie of my career. It’s a great ‘Saturday night at the movies’ movie, and with a good quotient of blood and other bodily fluids, it hits all the right horror notes.” No cast has been announced yet for the movie, which rolls in September under producer Greg Brenman of the Tiger Aspect company, which is also developing the supernatural TV series DEMONS with Gerstenberger.
