Variety reports that New Line Cinema has grabbed the U.S. rights to the British shocker SICK HOUSE, directed by Curtis Radclyffe from a script by Romia Walker (based on a story by Radclyffe and Marc Zakian) Gina (JEEPERS CREEPERS) Philips stars as Anna, an archaeologist working in an old hospital that gets shut down for demolition, just as she discovers that it was the site of a plague in the 1600s. When she breaks into the place late one night, she winds up accidentally resurrecting the spirit of an evil doctor from the plague days, who terrorizes Anna and a group of youths who wind up trapped in the hospital with her. The cast also includes Alex Hassell, Kellie Shirley, Andrew Knott and Jack Bailey; the filmmaking team includes a pair of veterans of THE DESCENT, cinematographer Sam McCurdy and FX creator Paul Hyett.
