Tate Steinsiek, the New York-area makeup FX artist whose credits include ZOMBIE HONEYMOON and KNOCK KNOCK, shared with Fango some info and the first photo above of actor Peter (PULP FICTION) Greene from his debut as director, THE DEVOURED. Steinsiek, who shares helming duties with Ari Novak and also scripted the movie, describes it as “a feature-length film exploring the recesses of modern man’s desire. Every human is capable of atrocity. Everyone contains an inner strength that can be accessed if needed. But who is strong enough to awaken it—and at what cost? The five interconnected short stories in THE DEVOURED question every borderline man faces within himself. This is evolution, pure and brutal.”
One of the segments is called “Hungryman,” starring Greene in the title role and Toby (COLOR ME KUBRICK) Cook as Gabriel, a young man who prowls the Internet using the alias “Tenderoni,” “searching for a relief for that which haunts him,” Steinsiek explains. “He has heard about the infamous Meat Locker, a refuge for his kind. Somewhere in New York City exists an underworld of socialites that share his…taste. Gabriel lucks upon the elusive chat room and finds himself in conversation with someone known as Hungryman. After a nervous exchange, a rendezvous is coordinated—the moment Gabriel has always imagined. Finally, he will be welcomed into an exclusive privileged family, Manhattan’s underworld of high-class cannibalism. Fine dining at its most carnivorous! But Gabriel is something beyond even their scope of ‘normality.’ He wants something altogether different, legendary even within their own mythos. Gabriel isn’t there just to give—he’s there to take.”
The “Hungryman” cast also includes Vitali Baganov, heavy metal goddess Mistress Juliya from Fango’s second BLOOD DRIVE DVD, BLOOD SHED filmmaker Alan Rowe Kelly, Naima Mora, Parris Mayhew and Christopher (HORROR BUSINESS) Garetano.
