Daily Variety reports that New Regency has acquired the rights to Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, the first collaboration between New Enlgand author Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
Mignola and Golden will pen the script and none other than David (Blade: Trinity, The Invisible) Goyer is on board to direct! The story, for those of you who have avoided it till now, is about Lord Henry Baltimore, a soldier in WWI who is responsible for the unleashing of a horrible evil on the world, and makes it his duty to track down the source of said evil and kill it. The book is set in an alternate historical version of our world and sees three men summoned by the now-legendary Baltimore who end up recounting both their own experiences with the supernatural and how they came to trust Baltimore explicitly.
