With the success of this past summer’s 1408 it looks like John Cusack is planning on continuing working within the genre, this time around starring in a little number called The Factory.
Uber-producer Joel Silver is producing this one under his Dark Castle banner, the same outfit that gave us films like House on Haunted Hill, 1999 and Gothika.
The latter gives me shivers when I think about it. And it’s not because it was a scary film.
The Factory revolves around a cop (Cusack) and the killer, of course, he’s on the warpath to capture. You know how this cat and mouse game usually goes, right? The catch this time, however, is the killer has kidnapped the cop’s daughter. Naturally, Cusack’s character disregards all of the laws he swore to uphold on goes on an ass-kicking tour de force to get his little princess back safe and sound.
Morgan O’Neill, the winner of the Australian Project Greenlight co-wrote the script and is directing the feature.
Things get rolling on this one in January, so methinks we may possibly see it around Halloween, if things follow Dark Castle’s usual release pattern.
