The Asylum recently posted cover art and a few photos from its upcoming dinosaur adventure PREHISTORIC, which it releases on DVD March 11. Directed by Griff Furst and scripted by Paul Bales, it stars Michael (TREMORS) Gross, Christopher (SHAKMA) Atkins and Greg Evigan in the latest saga of a carnivorous dinosaur being accidentally let loose in modern LA. The Asylum page for the flick sported pics of the dino mockup over the weekend, but as of this morning they’ve been replaced by shots of the cast. Hmmmmm…
The company has also posted a trailer for its January 11 release MONSTER (previously titled TOKYO) on that movie’s page. Set in the Japanese city and written and directed by Erik Estenberg, it dramatizes the destruction that results when a tentacled monster is unleashed by an earthquake through the video camera of two American journalists. Any resemblance between this movie and Paramount’s similarly themed CLOVERFIELD, which hits theaters three days later, is of course entirely uncoincidental. The DVD will include a 16×9-enhanced widescreen transfer with 5.1 Surround sound, plus a making-of featurette, bloopers and trailers. Retail price is $24.95.
