The organizers of the 2008 Slamdance Film Festival, which takes place January 17-25 in Park City, UT, have announced the lineup of titles, including a trio of fright features showing under the Twilight Screening banner. These movies are: the North American premiere of Jon Knautz’s JACK BROOKS: MONSTER SLAYER, about a plumber who unleashes his long pent-up inner rage when he confronts an ancient evil, co-starring Robert Englund; SPINE TINGLER! THE WILLIAM CASTLE STORY, Jeffrey Schwarz’s documentary on the legendary B-movie mogul; and the world premiere of Steven Goldmann’s TRAILER PARK OF TERROR, in which stranded teenagers, white trash and redneck zombies collide.
Also showing at the fest, in the Narrative Feature Competition, is PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, written and directed by Oren Peli, which documents a purportedly true demonic haunting and won raves at this year’s Screamfest (see the trailer here).
