Fango heard from French filmmaker Alexis Wawerka, who passed onto Fango info and pics from LADY BLOOD, a new feature in which he took an acting turn as a junkie (in bottom photo). “It was made by director Jean-Marc Vincent, who did the werewolf short film WOLF PACK,” he tells us. “It’s a sequel to the 1990 film BABY BLOOD, also known in the States under the title THE EVIL WITHIN. It’s very gory, and there are a number of stars in it like the great Philippe Nahon, who played the serial killer in HIGH TENSION and co-starred in IRREVERSIBLE. Many actors like Bruno Solo and directors like Xavier Gens [of HITMAN and the upcoming FRONTIER(S)] are making cameos as well.
“The story of the first film was about Yanka [Emmannuelle Escourrou], a young woman raped by an ancient creature who is forced during her pregnancy to feed the unborn child by killing men and eating them. Now in LADY BLOOD, 15 years later, Yanka has become a cop, and a mysterious series of gruesome murders have taken place in Paris. Soon Yanka and her team have to face the truth: the murders aren’t perpetrated by a human, but by a cannibalistic creature. The movie will be a mix between SE7EN, STREET TRASH, SLiTHER and BRAIN DAMAGE.”
Escourrou not only returns as Yanka but also scripted the new film with Vincent and Hubert Chardot.
