SCOOBY TOO UPDATE
‘se7en’ was on the set of the new ‘Scooby Doo’ film sequel in Vancouver and drops in the following details: ‘Much of last week’s shoot took place at the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery which has been modified (slightly) to look like a criminology museum. The scene being shot there was that of the opening night of an exhibition displaying the work of Mystery Inc. (the scooby doo gang).
There were huge banners with animated pictures of monsters that Mystery inc. have battled in the past, including one of a ghost, one of someone wearing what looked like a water-pressure resistant suit, and one of an ‘Igor’ type/Frankenstein’s Monster looking baddy.
I was surprised to see Alicia Silverstone on set, and in the shoot where she played a reporter interviewing Fred and Daphne (Freddie Prinze and Sarah Michelle Gellar), and as i was standing right where that interview was held, I could hear dialogue exchanged between the reporter and Fred that seemed to indicate a possible romantic sub-plot between them. Needless to say, Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character, daphne, got a tad bit jealous-and put on a catty attitude towards the reporter. aside from that, the gang got a really warm welcome from us fans at the premiere, and each character had their respective group of admirers (stoners and skaters for Shaggy, fat guys with Daphne tattoos on their chests, a horde of screaming 12 yr old girls for Fred, and the dinkley brigade for Velma)’
