Canada’s Space channel will host the world TV premiere of the documentary ZOMBIEMANIA this Thursday, January 3 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Produced by Halifax-based Sorcery Films Ltd. in association with Space, the hour-long show explores the cinema of the walking dead and how the creatures relate to modern real-life fears. Among the luminaries interviewed are director George A. Romero, ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE/WORLD WAR Z author Max Brooks, makeup FX wizards Tom Savini and Greg Nicotero and Wade Davis, who wrote the SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW book upon which Wes Craven’s film was based. Ontario artist Rob Sacchetto, who specializes in Zombie Portraits, not only appears on camera but contributed painted ghoulish likenesses of each of the interviewees. Sorcery’s projects also include WOMEN OF DARKNESS, a docu on female contributors to the fright industry, featuring on-camera chats with AMERICAN PSYCHO director Mary Harron, GINGER SNAPS scripter Karen Walton, Kathryn Bigelow and Jamie Lee Curtis.
