Director-producer Guillermo del Toro may be up to his ears in the post-production of Hellboy II:The Golden Army and can pen no screenplay while the WGA is under strike rules but that’s not stopping him from eagerly preparing the next adaptation of Frankenstein. The director has told MTV that he’s hard at work in pre-production, crafting drawings which he hopes to use as a basis for the world of the film.
“I started doing some notes before the strike,” he revealed. “[During the strike] I can only draw now.”
He has also indicated that he’s more in favor of a 4 hour mini-series, which you watch in a video interview here.
“The only way to do the Shelley novel is to actually do a four-hour miniseries,” he said. “But I think there permutations in which you can tell the myth in a different way.”
