Variety reports that a group of actors and actresses with heavy genre experience among them have been cast in SOLOMON KANE, the screen adaptation of CONAN creator Robert E. Howard’s supernatural adventure tales that we first reported on here.
Joining James (RESIDENT EVIL) Purefoy, who plays the titular 16th-century soldier seeking redemption for past misdeeds by fighting evil forces, are Max (THE EXORCIST) von Sydow, Pete (DARK WATER) Postlethwaite, Rachel (AN AMERICAN HAUNTING) Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige (who previously worked for KANE producer Samuel Hadida on SILENT HILL) and Mackenzie (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) Crook. Michael J. (DEATHWATCH) Bassett scripted and will direct for Hadida and fellow producer Paul Berrow; production will start later this month in Prague.
Hadida and his Davis Films are aiming to make a KANE trilogy of features.
