Jonathan Bogner, producer of TRAILER PARK OF TERROR, got in touch with Fango with an exclusive production still seen below from the redneck-zombies-on-parade flick, as well as to talk up the film’s screening at the Slamdance Film Festival next Monday, January 21 at 10:45 p.m.
“Why are we so excited about premiering at Slamdance?” asks Bogner. “Because this is the ‘little horror film that could,’ and we believe it’s actually going to define a new niche in the world of horror cinema. This movie has it all and then some—things you’ve never seen before. It’s scary, it’s fun and we have really pushed the envelope to make the film a nonstop, hair-raising thrill-fest. I mean, it almost sounds like a rollercoaster ride at Magic Mountain, doesn’t it?”
While Bogner’s enthusiasm for the more sensational aspects of the Steven Goldmann-directed film is clearly high, he’s quick to point out that the script (by Timothy Dolan, based on the Imperium Comics series) delivers “something you don’t see a whole lot of in the horror genre: character development. I can promise that you won’t be able to take your eyes off [actress] Nichole Hiltz. As Norma, she is quite simply riveting. She’s just what we’ve said she is: an undead babe with a killer attitude.”
Joining the starlet for the flick’s down-home mayhem are DEVIL’S REJECTS alumni Lew Temple and Priscilla Barnes, Duane (FEAST) Whitaker and Michelle Lee. Bogner says that the film’s entire team are “all very proud of what TRAILER PARK OF TERROR has become. From its beginnings as a comic-book series, through script development, to the insane, freezing-cold all-night production shoots in the middle of nowhere [Acton, CA, to be exact], everyone has worked so hard to make this horror film a real standout. In the end, there’s one thing I’m absolutely certain of: You’ve never, ever seen trailer trash like this.”
