Fango have heard from Scott Phillips, writer/director of GIMME SKELTER, who has given them an update on the DVD of his Manson-inspired slaughter film, which he and star Kurly Tlapoyawa are self-distributing.
“Things are going along smoothly, but we fell behind in our schedule for a pretty crazy reason: Mark Neveldine, the co-director of CRANK, saw my earlier movie THE STINK OF FLESH and cast Kurly in his new flick, GAME—doing a fight scene with Gerard Butler! He got bumped up into SAG, as well—which pretty much means I can’t afford him anymore.
“At any rate, he’s done shooting that and everything is back on track,” Phillips continues. “We expect to have the master off to the replicator within a week or so, and then there’s a 10-day turnaround on getting the DVDs back. After that, 67 of the inserts will be shipped overnight to [co-star] Gunnar Hansen for his autograph, and once those are back in our hands, we’ll be able to start filling orders. Just to be on the safe side, I’ll say that the projected release date is now February 28.”
The GIMME SKELTER DVD is available for pre-order at the movie’s official website or MySpace page.
Copies are $15 plus $4.25 shipping/handling within the U.S., or $6 s&h for international orders. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
