The Hollywood Reporter is reporting (as well they should!) that Sean Bean (LOTR, The Hitcher, Silent Hill), Lena Heady (300, Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Rupert Friend will be starring in Ecosse Films’ Black Death!
Geoff Sax it to be helming the project. Black Death is based on a screenplay penned by Dario Poloni. Ecosse Films co-chiefs Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae will co-produce alongside Jens Meurer. Production will be handled in Germany and the U.K.
Plot Concept: Set in an apocalyptic medieval world, “Death” details the story of a band of brothers whose quest is to hunt down a necromancer against the backdrop of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England. Friend will play a young monk sent to investigate rumors of people being brought back to life, while Bean plays a mercenary priest who arrives in the same village. Against the backdrop of the peaceful village lies a pact with the forces of darkness, orchestrated by the village ruler.
