According to Fango Dark Sky Films has announced that it has come aboard Ti West’s ‘The House of the Devil’. The MPI Media Group horror division joins Peter Phok, Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix and HISTORY OF VIOLENCE’s Roger Kass and Josh Braun on the producing team for the film, which West also scripted.
The House of the Devil concerns a college girl who answers a babysitting ad and winds up at the titular domicile, where terrible events undoubtedly ensue.
“I am excited to be working with Ti again, and with this team and a few more resources,” says Fessenden, who also teamed with Phok on West’s TRIGGER MAN, which hits DVD from Kino March 18. “Ti’s ability to root his genre films in the rhythms and details of everyday life is what makes them resonant and startling. This one will be a doozy.”
“I’ve wanted to produce a Ti West movie from the moment I saw the bats go rabid in THE ROOST,” Kass says, “and teaming up again with Glass Eye and its aces crew is a great follow-up to the energy we generated together on our last effort, Ilya Chaiken’s LIBERTY KID.” Adds Braun, “This film is a horror classic in the making.”
‘The House of the Devil’ will begin shooting in March in Connecticut.
