After recent whispers of a possible Mummy spin-off series with Luke Ford as Alex O’Connell, actress Maria Bello, who has replaced Rachel Weisz as Evelyn in the upcoming ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’, has confirmed to MTV that she is signed for a trilogy of possible sequels within the franchise.
“I don’t know when, but it’s going,” she said. “[There will] absolutely be ‘The Mummy 4.’ ”
And when there is, Bello says she’s already got an idea for where it can film.
“Something that takes place in the Amazon,” Bello suggested.

The upcoming third film will star Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Maria Bello, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Wong, Luke Ford and Isabella Leong. Director Rob Cohen took over the helming duties, based on a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ will hit theaters August 1st 2008.
