Slasher movie 'Candyman' has been added to the pot of planned (unnecessary) remakes. There's been so many announcements for remakes of late it's getting hard to keep up. Has originality finally collapsed? Ryan Rotten received word that Sony are planning the remake of the Clive Barker based horror from back in 1992.
Ryan makes clear that Sony is just at decision making status currently and has no writers or director attached as yet. Everything is still in "early talks", with even the possibilty of making Candyman himself white!? Personally I still reckon Tony Todd would rock in the title role.
'Candyman' was followed by two sequels, 'Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh' and 'Candyman: Day of the Dead' respectively.
