Shooting has begun in Connecticut on the fifth production from Synthetic Cinema International LLC (SCI). Co-produced by Vijaya Cine Enterprises ‘Sasquatch Assault’ tells the tale of the legendary woodland creature who suddenly finds himself in the heart of the city. You can check out the full synopsis below.
“When a merciless bear poacher is caught and arrested deep in the woods of a state park, he and his truck are taken to a neglected precinct in the heart of the city. Unbeknownst to the authorities, the impounded truck holds a deadly cargo in the form of the legendary Sasquatch. Now, stuck in an unfamiliar world, the creature will let nothing and no one stop it from coming face-to-face with the unscrupulous man who ruthlessly ripped it from its environment. Taking an inventive and action packed approach, ‘Sasquatch Assault’ breaths new and exciting life into the immortal legend of Bigfoot.”
‘Sasquatch Assault’ is being helmed by Andrew Gernhard, who’s taking the reigns as Director for the first time on one of his own productions. The script was penned by John Doolan.
The majority of the film will be shot in a visually incomparable inactive Police Precinct in the town of Norwalk. Additional scenes will be shot not only in Middletown, employing the downtown city streets and an intimidating abandoned building, but also in the forboding underground of Hartford.
You may remember past Synthetic Cinema releases such as ‘Predator Island’ and ‘Werewolf: The Devil’s Hound’. They are also revving up an early 2009 international theatrical run of their recently completed effects driven monster movie ‘Banshee!!!’.
