NEW 'I AM LEGEND' MOVIE TO BE A SEQUEL!?

There was word of a potential prequel coming from the 'I Am Legend'-soon-to-be franchise.  But now it appears that idea just may have been scrapped and a bonifiedey sequel may be it's ultimate replacement.

Warner Bros were prepping another 'Legend' movie, to be a prequel, likely so they could have star Will Smith return to the lead role. However, according to an AintItCoolNews source, the plans are now to make a sequel to the blockbuster Francis Lawrence flick.

Here's what their spy had to say, regarding the initial prequel idea, and where the project now stands:

"Smith is actually the one who developed the initial story. It took place several years before the original film and there were still pockets of survivors and the story centered around Smith interacting, bonding, and ultimately failing to save them. For months this was the story. Warner's didn't much care for it and Smith and Weiss eventually came on board and all parties agreed to change things up. Well this change is pretty insane, the film is no longer a prequel, it's a fucking sequel!"
