FIRST FATHER MERRIN SHOT
Here is the first shot of Stellan Skarsgard as Father Lankaster Merrin in full ‘exorcism’ attire in the forthcoming prequel from Morgan Creek, ‘Exorcist: The Beginning’.
Skarsgard takes over the reigns of Merrin from another Swedish Hollywood veteran, Max Von Sydow (who of course played Father Merrin in William Friedkin’s original 1973 horror classic ‘The Exorcist’), in a prequel set during World War II.
The new photo comes courtesy of the June issue of Fangoria and also includes a synopsis of the story and the making of the movie. When asked if the possibility of another sequel is on the cards, Skarsgard notes: ‘You can’t cry out for a movie just because it’s an Exorcist film, but if it’s a good one, it doesn’t matter what the title is, does it?’
The June issue of Fango hits news stands everywhere on May 20th.
