Helmer Brad Anderson ('The Machinist', 'Session 9') is to take up the directorial duties on an adaptation of popular graphic novel 'The Living and the Dead'. The book, created by, Robert Tinnell and Todd Livingston, is about a guy who is involved in 19th-Century 'snuff theatre' and lures innocent victims to "a Grand Guignol of flesh and blood".

The story was originally intended as a movie with a screenplay being prepared by the writing duo, however, it ended up in its comic form. They have reworked their original screenplay following the comic book's existence and now of course following Anderson's involvement.

"Todd and I are so excited. I'm a big fan of 'Session 9'. I think it's a fantastic film," Tinnel said. "Obviously he's a storyteller, and obviously he knows how to build tension, but what I also like is that when you watch his movies you really feel like you're inhabiting the space."

No more production details or dates have been announced so far but we'll let you know as soon as they are.
