MAYHEM HORROR FILM FESTIVAL AT BROADWAY CINEMA
THURSDAY 29th OCTOBER – SUNDAY 1st NOVEMBER
Halloween sees the return of the MAYHEM HORROR FILM FESTIVAL to Broadway Cinema Nottingham. Broadway will be taken over by all things horror for three days of fearsome feature films, grizzly guests and scary shorts which will shock, surprise and entertain.
As part of its programme MAYHEM presents a series of preview screenings of some of the most exciting up and coming feature films including on Thursday 29th October COLIN – the film that wowed the critics at Cannes this year and only cost it’s makers £45! Which has “Turned its director into the poster boy of zero-budget film-making, an example of what can be achieved with an old camcorder, a laptop and a good idea.” THE GUARDIAN.
MAYHEM is thrilled to be welcoming a series of special festival guests –
Thursday 29th October we open our festival with COLIN director Marc Price in person discussing making such an inspiring low-budget feature debut.
On Saturday 31st October key cast and the creators of the BBC’s huge hit series BEING HUMAN hold a special BAFTA panel discussion about the programme, it’s origins and preview 2010’s series.
Sunday 1st November sees a special appearance from legendary British film director Mike Hodges who made the landmark features GET CARTER, FASH GORDON, CROUPIER and I’LL SLEEP WHEN I’M DEAD and is our special guest introducing a rare screening of cult classic BLACK RAINBOW.
In addition, on Friday 30th October MAYHEM will screen what remains one of the highlights of the festival – a selection of short films from future feature fear makers many of them from the region. The rest of Friday night is dedicated to a Special Preview Screening of Asian horror film MACABRE.
The festival will also see the Special Previews of SOMEONE’S KNOCKING AT THE DOOR, a Grindhouse styled slasher, COFFIN ROCK a new Australian film from the team behind the hit WOLF CREEK, Spanish shocker HIERRO from the makers of THE ORPHANAGE and a closing gala screening of GRACE on Sunday 1st November.
