FILMAX SIGNING UP TALENT
The Cannes Film Festival always provides a wealth of horror news – kinda like when Scheider and Dreyfuss gutted that shark in ‘Jaws’ to find the little kid’s remains only to find other goodies within the fish’s belly – and this year is no different.
Myriad Pictures is basking in all the attention ‘Jeepers Creepers 2’ is currently receiving from potential foreign distributors. And the Spain-based Filmax isn’t doing to shabby either. First, check out yesterday’s news regarding a particular upcoming Filmax horror flick to watch out for.
Today, the company (known for their relationship with Fantastic Factory) announced they’ve signed a number of rising horror talent, Jaume Balaguero included, to helm a batch of English language TV movies. That doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily be released here though. And, strangely, it doesn’t mean all 12 films in the slate will be horror. It is news worth noting seeing as Alex de la Iglesia (‘Accion Mutante,’ ‘Day of the Beast’) was brought aboard to helm one of the projects.
