Another cinematic travesty is on the horizon as Dimension pushes on with it’s remake of ‘An American Werewolf in London’. Movie scribe Fernley Phillips has apparently been hired to write the new screenplay. Phillips previously penned the Jim Carrey thriller ‘The Number 23’.
John Landis’ 1981 classic, about two American tourists in England who are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals will admit exists, is going to be a tough one to live up to. A film that is best remembered for it’s incredible fully-lit transformation effects is going to be difficult to reignite that same feeling of imagination especially as I can just forsee the whole thing bowing to horrible CGI use instead.
The original flick (almost 30 years old now!) starred David Naughton, Jenny Agutter (below) and Griffin Dunne.
More on this as and when we hear it.
