FILMAKERS STRIKE RAW NERVE
Here’s exactly what we need: news that’ll set many of you struggling horror filmmakers to work. Brush up your director’s reels. Polish up them scripts. A new horror production company is rolling into Hollywood in a black suped-up black Charger and it promises to unleash hell.
Though the Corner has been hearing news of this endeavor since December, the trades report today that Green Street Films has formed a production arm, called Raw Nerve, that’s dedicated solely to making horror movies. Wait, it gets better. Boaz Yakin (‘Remember the Titans’) is heading up this production company. It’s goal: to create ‘well-crafted, intelligent, and terrifying films with lean budgets.’ Raw Nerve hopes to crank out three to five gritty horror projects a year. Though a trio of horror talent comprises the principal Raw Nerve filmmaking team – Eli Roth (‘Cabin Fever’), Scott Spiegel (‘Evil Dead’), and David J. Schow (‘The Crow’) – Yakin says Nerve will be developing outside material as well with fresh blood in the indie scene.
