UPDATE: Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’ Prequel Manages to Pretty Much F#ck Everyone Off
Well, the online community has certainly riled up Fox in the past 24 hours. In spite of reports coming in that things looked bleak for Ridley Scott’s ‘Untitled Alien Prequel #1’ and it’s subsequent follow-up with news that both wouldn’t be seeing the light of day until sometime in 2013 and 2014 respectively, things aren’t as bad as they seem. Fox have been spilling details about the production to hopefully ease our minds. First off, both flicks aren’t now reportedly being pushed back. Secondly, and more bizarre is that the first prequel will apparently been titled ‘Paradise’. That’s it. The scheduling issues also are now being said to relate to director Ridley Scott waiting on Leonardo Di Caprio (whom he worked with on ‘Body of Lies’) to become available for the project, which now he isn’t. And on top of this it seems Noomi Rapace (‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’), Michelle Yeoh (below) (‘Tomorrow Never Dies’) and Michael Fassbender (‘Inglourious Basterds’) are officially in contention to form part of the ensemble cast.
Now just scrap all you thought you knew about the new plot concept as well as it appears Damon Lindelof’s (‘Lost’) script is as confused as we are.
“The story follows a group of space travelers who encounter a monstrous alien creature that picks them off, one by one.” – Sound familiar?
