Russell T Davies’ ‘Torchwood: The New World’ is the fourth season title for the popular ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off series starring Captain Jack and co. The BBC co-production received excellent ratings during it’s previous BBC1 aired 5-part third season ‘Torchwood: Children of Earth’ and now the action will cross the pond to take place in the US. John Barrowman will return as Captain Jack Harkness whilst Eve Myles (below) will continue her portrayal of sexy welshy Gwen Cooper. And now Bill Pullman (‘Lake Placid’, ‘The Grudge’) has been revealed to be playing killer Oswald Jones. He’ll join ‘Torchwood’ newcomers Mekhi Phifer and Arlene Tur.
“Captain Jack Harkness, the former Time Agent and con man from the 51st century last seen traveling with the Doctor, ventures to early 21st century Cardiff. There, he becomes a member of Torchwood Institute, a renegade criminal investigation group founded by Queen Victoria to battle hostile extraterrestrial and supernatural threats.”
It’s expected the new series will air over ten episodes in mid-2011 and the shoot will commence sometime next month.
