Yesterday we bought you news of how actor Johnny Depp was intending to take on the role of vampire Barnabas Collins in director Tim Burton’s new take on the 1960’s sci-fi and horror TV show adaption of ‘Dark Shadows’. And if that wasn’t enough well it now appears that cute actress Michelle Pfeiffer (below) is being considered for a role in Burton’s new gothic redo. Pfeiffer (‘What Lies Beneath’) is in talks to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the reclusive, head honcho of the vampire Collins family. Her character hasn’t left her mansion since her husband disappeared over a decade ago. If signed up she’ll be joining Depp, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley (‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’) and Bella Heathcote. Burton’s wife Helena Bonham Carter (‘The King’s Speech’) is also reportedly up for the role Dr. Julia Hoffman.
“The original series of ‘Dark Shadows’, created by Dan Curtis, spawned over 1225 episodes over the years and was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.”
