The White House is filling up quite nicely for Seth Grahame-Smith adaption ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. The new Timur Bekmambetov (‘Wanted’, ‘Night Watch’) directed flick already has Benjamin Walker (‘Flags of Our Fathers’) in the title role, ‘Mamma Mia’s Dominic Cooper and the incredibly beautiful Mary Elizabeth Winstead (‘Final Destination 3’, ‘Death Proof’) all set to star and now actor Jimmi Simpson has also hopped on board the project. Simpson (below), whom you may remember from the likes of video game horror ‘Stay Alive’ and more recently in ‘Date Night’ will maybe know him better as one of the McPoyle’s in hilarious TV comedy ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’. Jimbo will play Lincoln’s right hand man. Check out the plot below.
“When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln. Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.”
Abe commences his vampire hunt on 22 June 2012.
