Like many, particularly AMC, I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the impending second season of comic book to TV show ‘The Walking Dead’. The follow-up series to the incredible success story from producer Frank Darabont recently linked itself to a possible directorial guest spot from ‘Shaun of the Dead’ helmer Edgar Wright. And now it looks like it’s the turn of Stephen King to get involved. During her appearance at Saturday’s C2E2 actress Laurie Holden (‘Silent Hill’, ‘The Mist’), who plays Andrea in the show, revealed that the legendary horror writer was in talks to write an episode! If it happens it would be the fourth time in which Darabont and King have worked together in effect as of course Darabont has previously directed 3 movies based on novels and stories by Stephen King which include ‘The Mist’, ‘The Green Mile’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. The series stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Michael Rooker, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun and Sarah Wayne Callies.
“‘The Walking Dead’ follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.”
