Seems we can’t go too long without a new piece of ‘Piranha 3DD’ news and today it no different! Following on from Tuesday’s news that the sexier than God ’30 Rock’ hottie Katrina Bowden is set to join the cast of John Gulager’s sequel we now have word of a few familiar faces that’ll be returning to the new franchise. Funnyman Paul Scheer and Christopher Lloyd (‘Back to the Future’) are both due to return to their roles from Alexandre Aja’s 2010 Summer remake. Scheer, interestingly, was never seen to die on screen and therefore his role was never actually killed off – in spite of his death being cut. And, as previously rumoured, Ving Rhames (below) will also return in the Dimension Films’ follow-up as Deputy Fallon. The sequel also stars the likes of Danielle Panabaker (‘The Ward’), Meagan Tandy (‘Unstoppable’), Chris Zylka (‘Shark Night 3-D’) and David Koechner (‘Anchorman’).
“There’s something in the water…again. And this time no one is safe from the flesh eating fish as they sink their razor sharp teeth into the visitors of the best summer attraction, The Big Wet Water Park.”
Production is already under way in North Carolina and has a release date scheduled for theatres from 23 November 2011.
