Another little bit of casting news comes to light today for Len Wiseman’s upcoming ‘Total Recall’ remake. Actor Ethan Hawke (‘Training Day’, ‘Daybreakers’) has signed up for a role that for now anyway seems to be under wraps. Could he be Richter (portrayed by Michael Ironside in Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 original) or perhaps even leader of the rebels character George/Kuato? Anyway, what we do know is the story will be based more around the original sci-fi story ‘We Can Remember It for You Wholesale’, by author Philip K. Dick. And of course that Colin Farrell will play the lead of Quaid, replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger. And they’ll be joined by the sexy and fit Jessica Biel (below) and ‘Breaking Bad’ star Bryan Cranston as Cohaagen.
“Total Recall is a new, contemporized reimagining of the science fiction saga. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman and produced by Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe, with Ric Kidney on-board as executive producer. The short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick served as the source for the 1990 Motion Picture screen story by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Jon Povill and screenplay by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Gary Goldman, with the updated screenplay being written by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt.”
