Director Eric Howell’s new adaption of author Silvio Raffo’s novel ‘La Voce Della Pietra’ has received a top hot actress to fill it’s female lead spot. That little sauce pot Maggie Gyllenhaal (‘Donnie Darko’, ‘The Dark Knight’) has grabbed the role in Howell’s ‘Voice from the Stone’ project. The film has been adapted for the big screen by scribe Andrew Shaw from Raffo’s Italy based story. The spooky ghost story adaption will stay based in Italy. The project originally had ‘Ring’ and ‘Chatroom’ director Hideo Nakata set to direct until Howell took over the helm.
“Set in the Italian countryside, the film revolves around a nurse’s (Gyllenhaal) efforts to help the young son of the man she’s sweet on survive the evil spirits that haunt him.”
