Christopher Nolan’s much anticipated (possibly overly) final Batman project ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is well on it’s way into production with shoots happening across London recently. Filming is also scheduled for New York, India, Scotland and Pittsburgh. But it’s the news that some new cast members have been added to the movie. Remember Matthew Modine? – below (he played the role of Joker in Stanley Kubrick’s awesome ‘Full Metal Jacket’) – well he’s just been tapped for a role along with Brit veteran actor Tom Conti and American child star Joey King. The trio will join up with Anne Hathaway (to play Catwoman), Tom Hardy (as Bale), Christian Bale (back as Batman), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple and Michael Caine. No news on what roles they’ll actually play but that’s half the fun with Nolan isn’t it!? But it’s good to see Modine getting a high profile screen role again, I mean the dude was swashbuckling back in ‘Cutthroat Island’ long before Johnny Depp picked up a sword!
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is set for a 20 July 2012 release people.
