LITTLE SHOP, NO REVIVAL
Variety reports that the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Broadway revival, which was set to open August 14 at the Virginia Theater, will not be happening after all. Directed by Connie Grappo and starring Alice Ripley and Hunter Foster, with Lee Wilkof, the original productions Seymour, now playing florist Mr. Mushnik, the reprise will go no further than its out-of-town tryout at the Actors Playhouse in Coral Gables, FL, ending June 15. The producers issued a statement that there may yet be a new HORRORS devouring a Manhattan stage in the future, with talks currently underway with veteran Broadway director Jerry Zaks.
