Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon and Stephanie Szostak! That's the current line-up for 'Red' director Robert Schwentke's feature adaption of the comic book series 'R.I.P.D'. Now, according to Variety, you may soon be able to throw 'Weeds' star Mary-Louise Parker (below) into the mix. The actress, who has worked with German helmer Schwentke before on 'Red', would be the secret division chick who "explains to Reynolds' character what has happened when he dies." The movie based on the graphic novel series by Peter Lenkov will arrive theatrically next June.
"Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department -- the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement "patrolling the deadbeat...reporting to one boss." Yep -- THAT boss. Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he's traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back -- literally!"
'R.I.P.D.' will let rip in theatres next year from 28 June 2013.
