Daniel Stamm, who helmed last year’s possession horror ‘The Last Exorcism’, will be directing a remake of the Thai thriller ’13: Game of Death’. The brutal tale of an unlucky salesman who gets caught up in a mysterious ‘game show’ in which he can make 100 million Baht by carrying out 13 increasingly nasty challenges. The Chukiat Sakveerakul original was based on a comic book by Eakasit Thairatana and was pretty entertaining. His initial challenge involves simply killing a fly, however, the tasks thereafter simply become more and more gruesome. It definitely has you asking what you would do for that kind of money! Stamm is prepping the script along with writing buddy David Birke. Check out the synopsis for the 2006 original below.
“A down-on-his-luck salesman has lost his job, his car and his girlfriend. When a mysterious cell phone caller offers him $100 million to play a “game show” featuring 13 secret challenges, he is in. The catch? The tests grow increasingly intense and morally questionable, but if he quits he loses everything.”
