SyFy are pushing their luck of the Irish with the announcement of their new Drew Daywalt helmed production all about those little green fellas. Not aliens, not gremlins but the Leprechaun. Bizarrely titled 'Leprecahn' (spellcheck please) the new project from scribe Anthony C. Ferrante has no relation to the series of horror flicks starring Brit actor Warwick Davis ('Willow'). The title 'Leprecahn' has appeared on the American Film Market website so potentially it may just be a typo but until we hear otherwise it'll be referred to as this. Warwick Davis (below) can be seen next starring as a twisted version of himself in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's new TV show 'Life's Too Short' which'll air on the BBC next month. Check out the plot for the new SyFy project below.
"Sixty-six years ago, the town of Irish Channel in Louisiana was the site of a horrible massacre on St. Patrick’s Day. Some blame a terrible storm that blew through the town, but those that were there don’t speak of the truth. Due to petty superstitions, St. Patrick’s Day festivities were banned for the last 66 years, but now, the new Mayor wants to tempt fate and celebrate."
