CROW: WICKED PRAYER UPDATE
Fans of The Crow were dealt a mighty blow earlier this week with news that The Crow: Wicked Prayer has been shut down, due to some pretty solemn circumstances. Ok, but whats the real deal you ask?
The A Boy and His Bird Website reported a couple of days back that Producer Edward R.Pressman had been taken ill, and therefore the production would be shut down.
I got in contact with the studio to see if we cant confirm this news and they responded what? this is categorically incorrect and untrue. nothing of the sort happened. ed was actually in LA last night for the opening night of the LA Film Festival and the showing of his film The Cooler. he’s not even on-set yet.
Good news fans. Advantageously, The Boy and His Bird website also updated their site with the good news:
We have since learned that Pressman is in good health and the only hold up with the production was waiting a few extra days for the financial paperwork to be signed, sealed and delivered. All is in order and the cameras are rolling.
The production was delayed a few days due to waiting on the financial end of things to get completed, but we are happy to report all was worked out and Wicked Prayer is officially in production as Friday, June 7th. There were reports that Pressman had fallen ill and the production was halted. Thank goodness, that is not the case.
Theres also been some more casting apparently.
There has been three actors cast lately for supporting roles. The first was David Ortiz for the role of Sheriff Tanner. He is the brother of Lily. The other casting has been of Macy Gray and Yuji Okumoto. Macy will play one of El Nino’s (Dennis Hopper) body guards and Yuji will play the 4th member of the Four Horseman gang, Pestilence. If you remember, we ran an update on these two a couple of months ago saying they were rumored to be up for roles.
The Crow : Wicked Prayer, follows Luc Crash [David Boreanaz], the charismatic gang leader of a ragtag band of Satanist bikers named after the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Luc murders Jimmy Cuervo (Edward Furlong) and his girlfriend Lily as part of a ritual to become an immortal demon, but Luc finds that Jimmy has been transformed into the avenging spirit known at The Crow, intent on stopping Luc before he can become the Lord of the Flies.
The cast includes Dennis Hopper, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Danny Trejo, Marcus Chong, Tito Ortiz and Tara Reid. Lance Mungia directs.
