British actor Bill Nighy (‘Shaun of the Dead’, ‘Underworld’) and Aussie star Socratis Otto (‘Gone’) are both in negotiations to join Stuart Beattie’s ‘I, Frankenstein’. The new adaption is a take on the classic tale of the bolt-necked monster and is based on the graphic novel by ‘Underworld’ co-creator Kevin Grevioux. ‘The Dark Knight’ actor Aaron Eckhart is set to star as Adam Frankenstein in the Lakeshore Entertainment, Hopscotch Features and Lionsgate production. Writer/director Beattie also has another couple of other genre writing credits to date which include ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’ and the comic book adaption of ’30 Days of Night’ which he penned alongside comic book author and novelist Steve Niles. ‘I, Frankenstein’ is due to open in the US from 22 February 2013.
“Set in a modern-day world where the classic literary monster stands between humans and a host of other supernatural creatures looking to rise up and take over.”
