Vamp fans everywhere can sink their teeth into 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1' which opens this Friday in theatres. Now we know it's not everyones cup of tea, namely intelligent adults, but relax as our Kristen Stewart news tidbit of today is not related to the 4th teen-vampire installment. Instead we're focusing on the live-action adaption of Katsuhiro Otomo's 1988 animated cyberpunk sci-fi flick 'Akira'. Stewart is being tapped to play the role of Kei. Brit actors Gary Oldman ('Leon'), Helena Bonham Carter ('Alice in Wonderland'), the sexy Keira Knightley -below ('Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End') and 'TRON: Legacy' star Garrett Hedlund are all signed up to the project which will be helmed by 'House of Wax' and 'Orphan' director Jaume Collet-Serra. The adaption will see the original anime action translate from "Neo-Tokyo" to "New Manhattan".
"Part one of a two-part live action adaptation of the 1988 anime film, "Akira", in which the leader of a biker gang tries to save his kidnapped friend from a powerful supernatural experiment."
