'Jennifer's Body' and 'Juno' scribe Diablo Cody has been trying to put the minds of 'Evil Dead' fans at ease. Whilst chatting with Collider recently about her work on the remake screenplay Cody (below) has been trying to appease those die-hard fans of Sam Raimi's original cult 80's horror. Director Federico Alvarez initially drafted the script and Cody was bought on board for a little bit of a rewrite. Alvarez will helm the project with Sam Raimi and original star Bruce Campbell to produce. As much as I was mortified at the very thought of this being remade I'm now kinda looking forward to seeing how it'll all come together. Check out what Cody had to say below and make sure you hit up the link below for the full Collider interview.
"I wouldnít have even gotten involved if Sam [Raimi] and Bruce Campbell hadnít been involved as well, theyíre producing it, and so of course I was like ďAlright I have to do thisĒ because Iím such a fan of the original, and the whole original series in fact. But I was nervous to take the job because I thought ďUgh, Iím gonna get shit for this. People are not gonna like this, because all people know of me is like Juno and they think Iím gonna pollute Evil Dead with like wacky dialogue and cute stuff and folk music, and itís like ďNo, look I understand what this is. Iím interested in storytelling here and making it scary and good and true to the original.Ē I feel like people will hopefully see Young Adult and go ďOh, okay thatís a horrifying movie maybe she could pull it off (laughs)."
