Hold the phone! Alex Proyas’ ‘Paradise Lost’ has been put on hold due to financial difficulty. Legendary Pictures and producers have been forced to go back to the drawing board to cut around their overblown budget. The costs for the epic flick based on the famous poem by John Milton have exceeded its $120 million allocated budget and so the accounts department are going to have to do a little trimming to get things back on track. The studio are hoping at this stage to push forward once again with the project in late Spring slash early Summer. Production was all set to kick off next month with Bradley Cooper -below (‘The Hangover’) in the role of Lucifer with Benjamin Walker (‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’), Casey Affleck (‘Tower Heist’), Rufus Sewell (‘Dark City’), Sam Reid, Djimon Hounsou, Diego Boneta and the gorgeous Camilla Belle all attached.
“An action-heavy take on the epic poem centered on the war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer.”
