As if towering trolls weren’t enough to grip you and tease your Norwegian mythical demands then move over ‘TrollHunter’ and make way for Aleksander Nordaas’ ‘Thale’. Based on a mythical character called a ‘Huldra’ which is a seductive forest creature, ‘Thale’ (Norwegian for ‘tail’ if you hadn’t already guessed) deals with a modern day ‘huldra’ which lures unsupecting men into the woods never to be seen again. So forget chicks with dicks because chicks with tails is the new thing and if you scour the page below you’ll be able to check out some pics, artwork and the trailer from the movie which certainly would entice me into the woodland. Silje Reinåmo, Erlend Nervold, Jon Sigve Skard and Morten Andresen all star.
“‘Thale’ is a feature film based on a mythical character in Norwegian folklore called ‘HULDRA’. According to the myth a huldra is a beautiful lady living deep in the woods, and it is said that she seduces men that work or hunt in the woods. She hums a beautiful song and lures them to her deep in the woods, and they never return to their village. You can recognize a hulder by her cow tail.”
‘Thale’ will enter theatres across Norway from 17 February 2012.
